Attempted Military Coup in The Gambia

Gambian military forces attempted an armed coup in The Gambia while long-term President Yahya Jammeh was out of the country, presumably in France or the United Arab Emirates. Lt. Col. Lamin Sanneh, who was killed in the coup,  allegedly led the Presidential Guard to rebel against the Jammeh regime in the capital of The Gambia, Banjul.
